About The Position

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a First-Year Student Academic Success Coordinator - Boca Raton, FL. The First-Year Student Academic Success Coordinator plays a key role in advancing first-year student engagement with academic support resources offered through the Center for Teaching and Learning. Reporting to the Associate Director of CLASS and eSuccess, the Coordinator leads innovative outreach efforts, facilitates high-impact presentations, and supports early-alert campaigns to promote successful transitions and sustained academic achievement.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

  • OFFICIAL SEALED TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED: Final candidate will be required to have official, sealed transcripts and original NACES evaluation, if applicable, sent from their educational institution to Human Resources prior to the start of employment.
  • PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENINGS REQUIRED: Selected candidates must successfully complete and pass all employment screenings prior to the start of employment. Employment screenings may include a criminal background check (level I and level II), motor vehicle check, credit check, reference checks, alcohol, and drug screening check.

Responsibilities

  • Lead highly engaging presentations at new student orientation events and tabling stations at open houses and other events attended by first-year students.
  • Coordinate the representation of the Center for Learning and Student Success (CLASS) through in-class presentations, center tours, and college or departmental events.
  • Implement semesterly special projects to increase the number of first-year students using the learning center's support services.
  • Support early alert and midterm student success campaigns, including participation in call campaigns and other time-sensitive interventions.
  • Advocate for first-year student representation in strategic planning, assessment, and reporting.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned in support of organizational objectives.
