About The Position

What You Will Do: This position is responsible for: North American capital asset accounting activities and direct supervision of three analysts as well as the work product of a third-party accounting services provider. Asset capitalizations, transfers, disposals, useful life changes and other master data changes. Maintenance of the PentaSAP asset sub-ledger for US, Canada, and Mexico. Leading month-end closing activities. Increasing the accounting oversight and controls over asset transfers, disposals, and revision of useful lives, working closely with colleagues in manufacturing finance and manufacturing engineering. Ensuring compliance for SOX design and testing. Monitoring review of account reconciliations. Providing support and guidance to the manufacturing community on all aspects of fixed assets. Subject Matter Expert for all systems development and improvements. Supporting corporate fixed assets reporting team. Supporting ad-hoc projects as requested. What You Will Learn: Excel in the M&E acquire-to-retire asset management process utilized at FCA. How multiple organizations interact with asset accounting. How to manage a team and back-office functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field
  • Minimum 8 years of accounting or finance experience
  • Good working knowledge of accounting principles, methods, and techniques
  • Supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of the asset management lifecycle, especially the asset capitalization and disposal financial processes
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with a bias for action and issue resolution

  • Asset accounting experience
  • CPA preferred
