About The Position

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our fleet. This position oversees the daily activities of the maintenance team, focusing on quality repairs, compliance with safety standards, and minimizing vehicle downtime to support seamless logistics operations.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of vehicles and equipment.
  • Proficiency in fleet management systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication skills across teams and departments.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and safety compliance standards.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of fleet maintenance experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in Automotive Technology or related field preferred.
  • ASE certifications or similar credentials preferred.
  • Industry experience in logistics, transportation, or waste management is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of fleet maintenance technicians.
  • Assign daily tasks and track progress against maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Manage and prioritize daily maintenance and repair tasks for all vehicles and equipment.
  • Supervise technicians diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform hands-on repairs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities (work orders, parts used, labor hours).
  • Approve maintenance reports and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Monitor fleet compliance with inspections, certifications, and safety requirements.
  • Manage parts inventory and reorder supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure fleet availability.
  • Assist in developing maintenance schedules, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct safety meetings and enforce the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Lead emergency response for urgent maintenance issues.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
