A successful Fleet Technician will independently and successfully repair, rebuild, and maintain various brands of trucks and truck engines, equipment and/or components in a timely manner and according to specifications. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years’ experience maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing on-highway trucks and equipment preferred.
  • Shift work, weekends and/or 24-hour calls may be required.
  • Should have or be able to obtain a CDL license.
  • Skill-level requirements vary from basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to component replacement.
  • Ability to use diagnostic equipment (i.e., Cat ET, CAT-SIS)
  • Familiarization of electronic cables, connections and sensors.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and proper repair procedures is required.
  • Must be able to read and interpret schematics, operating and maintenance service manuals.
  • Organizational and time management skills required. Must have the ability to set and keep priorities and professionally handle the stress associated with dealing with a fast-paced industry and deadlines.
  • Must be a Team player that is enthusiastic and hard working with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills is required.
  • Must possess the personal discipline to establish the proper image as a representative of Blanchard with the ability to meet and work with the customer in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission and values of BMC.
  • Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Safely assemble and disassemble components and equipment according to the manufacturer's specifications, including chassis, axles, etc.
  • Verify findings, review readings of gauges, meters, and procedures and compare to manufactures specs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Meet standard jobs expectations for assigned work orders.
  • Test the parts and/ or equipment and perform quality check after work is complete.
  • Pressure wash parts and equipment when necessary.
  • Maintain tool requirements.
  • Preparing parts requisitions, timecards, part returns, accurate and complete service reports and other necessary reports and forms.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
