About The Position

The Flex Branch Manager is responsible for supporting a cluster of branches in designated markets in the absence of the assigned branch manager and as a market-level resource. Key responsibilities include managing as a business owner, cultivating member-centric approach, driving operation excellence, and delivering on strategic goals to ensure that all aspects of the branch run effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible management experience within a retail or financial institution.
  • Flexible employee coaching skills to meet individual employee needs.
  • Professional verbal/written communication and presence.
  • Demonstrated positive demeanor and outgoing attitude.

  • Knowledge of California Credit Union Law and Regulations.
  • Knowledge of the sound practice of business administration.
  • Knowledgably of electronic banking equipment, video security systems, electronic fund transfer technology, office automation equipment.
  • Proven ability to inspire and motivate employees to meet and/or exceed service and performance objectives.
  • Solid knowledge of financial concepts, products, and services in a financial services environment.
  • Must be willing to travel to different branches within an assigned market.
  • Corrected vision within the normal range.
  • Hearing within normal range.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. as may be required.
  • Ability to travel for business as needed.
  • Out-of-area managers are required to travel to the Sacramento areas required.
  • Out-of-area mangers have more travel required than local managers.
  • Extended or long work hours may be required to accomplish tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a backup branch manager within an assigned market, providing leadership at high-impact branches when not deployed elsewhere.
  • Foster a professional and friendly environment that delivers exceptional member service, driving market expansion, wallet share growth, and increased revenue.
  • Lead overall branch performance and member service objectives aligned with Golden 1’s mission, vision, and core values.
  • Plan, organize, direct, implement, and control all branch operations, ensuring compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of state and federal laws related to credit union compliance, mitigating risk while maintaining operational integrity.
  • Monitor internal policy and procedural controls to safeguard the funds and assets of Golden 1.
  • Coach, train, and lead an engaged team through performance management and employee development.
  • Hire, train, develop, and evaluate branch staff, managing human resource processes such as appraisals, disciplinary actions, career development, and individual development plans.
  • Partner with the branch leadership and Member Service Specialists to ensure strong internal processes and controls.
  • Develop and implement branch business and marketing plans.
  • Identify, investigate, and respond to members' concerns, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Identify and target potential fields of membership within the branch’s demographic and local communities.
  • Plan and participate in community events and outreach initiatives, fostering engagement with select employee groups.
  • Organize outbound call efforts and ensure follow-up on active member outreach.
  • Distribute pertinent information to management and staff via meetings and reports.
  • Participate in special and standing committees, contributing to organizational strategy.
  • Ensure physical maintenance and appearance of branch facilities.
  • Prepare and submit budget justifications, overseeing and controlling budgetary expenses.
  • When required, perform Notary Public duties and travel to meetings by car or public conveyance.
