Job Description Summary Safely set up, adjust and operate Variety Pack and Universal Pallet machines such as case erectors, labelers and taping machines. Will set-up, operate, and adjust all machines in a safe and productive manner. LIFTING up to 50 lbs. is required. Will rotate positions, give breaks, and operate as schedule requires. Maintain area in good housekeeping order, complete required paperwork, and perform other duties as assigned by supervision. Participate as team member to accomplish training and cover schedules. Serve as backup lead when primary lead is absent. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required. Other duties as assigned by Supervision. Comply with food safety procedures and follow plant GMPs. Job Description In addition to flex operator responsibilities, must score above 50% on both (not an average) the Mechanical and Fractions/PLC/Electronics sections of the BATC Industrial Maintenance test. If there are equipment issues, works to return equipment to working condition. Reviews work orders for the site in SAP as necessary to understand special instructions or considerations to be observed in the execution of the jobs. Document all completed work orders at the end of the shift in SAP prior to leaving the site. Outstanding work orders must be identified to the shift leads. Makes recommendations to lead on jobs to be done and improvements to enhance machinery performance. Determines scope and best way to accomplish the work required and prepares an accurate description of parts needed. Responsible to notify production lead of estimate of downtime for an emergency repair. Performs Preventive Maintenance, including inspections, evaluations, and research, as scheduled in SAP and assigned to machinery. Recommends additional PM inspection tasks when opportunities for improvement are identified. Support and participate in reliability initiatives, RCA investigations, or other site programs as assigned. Works with Plant Maintenance Planner and Purchasing Agent to recommend additions to storeroom stock. Recommends changes to the Maintenance Planner on PM inspection frequencies (days, cases produced, hours, etc.) to reduce over-inspecting equipment and wasting maintenance labor. Ensures the safety needs are given a top priority in work execution and follows proper safety procedures at all times.
