About The Position

Flight Operations Engineering (FLOE), First Line Manager Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes is hiring a Flight Operations Engineering (FLOE), First Line Manager (Level K). FLOE is part of the BCA Customer Support organization. This position is based in Seal Beach, California. As a manager for our Airplane Flight Manuals team (AFM), you will work closely with BCA Airplane Programs, BGS Mods and Conversions, Regulatory Administration and Regulators, E-UM Advocacy Office, Customer Engineering, and others in the production and delivery of this important safety and certification document. You will support and advocate for your skilled and experienced team as well as our Commercial Airplane customers around the world.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
  • 5+ years of experience in support of aerospace products, which should include commercial and/or military airplanes.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing an engineering team.

  • Proven ability to embrace change, lead continuous improvement, and treat safety and quality as top priorities.
  • Experience in customer support.
  • Experience working with E-UMs (Engineering Unit Members).
  • Experience leading complex projects.
  • Knowledge of industry trends (customers, regulators, competitors, etc).
  • Willingness and ability to manage ambiguity and turn it into action.

Responsibilities

  • Manages employees perform engineering and technical activities in the areas of Flight Engineering.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquiring resources and funding for projects and processes, provides technical management of fuels related suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, direct reports, and ODA (Organization Designation Authorization) members.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
