About The Position

As a Flight Test Integration Engineer at our Concord, CA site, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between design and airborne operations. Reporting to the Flight Test Lead, you will ensure our flight test aircraft are configured, equipped, and ready for mission success. This is a role where you will apply technical expertise to solve integration challenges, support international deployments, and execute testing with a high degree of autonomy. This role is primarily on-site to support active testing, builds, and flight operations, with occasional flexibility for remote work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in flight test, systems integration, or a high-stakes hardware development environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Catia, SolidWorks) for design and fabrication of support equipment.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems and the ability to read/interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to work on-site in Concord, CA, and travel as needed for flight test campaigns.
  • This position must meet US export control compliance requirements, therefore a candidate must qualify as a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15. “US Person” includes US Citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with flight test data acquisition systems (DAS) and data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python).
  • Hands-on experience with composite repair, wiring harness fabrication, or rapid prototyping.
  • Previous experience supporting experimental aircraft or FAA certification programs.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support Equipment Development: Lead the design and fabrication of mechanical and electrical ground support equipment (GSE) necessary for aircraft maintenance and test operations.
  • Configuration Management: Track and manage complex test aircraft configurations, ensuring all hardware and software states are documented and flight-ready.
  • Test Execution: Independently execute simulation-based and ground testing; assist in the creation of flight test cards and mission planning.
  • Operational Support: Support daily flight test execution, including real-time data monitoring and post-test data analysis/reporting.
  • Global Deployments: Participate in and support operational flight test deployments, including potential travel to international locations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design engineering, maintenance, and flight operations teams to resolve technical integration hurdles.
