We are seeking Flight Test Engineer I / II candidates to support the planning, execution, and analysis of developmental and operational flight test activities. This role is hands-on and operational, directly supporting flight test execution, test planning, and post-flight analysis. The Flight Test Engineer works closely with operators, pilots, and engineering teams to ensure aircraft performance, safety, and test objectives are validated through disciplined test practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
  • Strong interest in flight test engineering or flight operations
  • Ability to work in hands-on, outdoor, and operational environments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% and work flexible hours in support of flight test operations

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of experience in flight test, flight operations, or systems test (Engineer II level)
  • Experience supporting live test events or operational testing
  • Familiarity with telemetry systems, flight test instrumentation, or data analysis tools
  • Experience with unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)
  • Programming or scripting experience (Python, MATLAB, etc.)
  • Experience working in fast-paced or startup engineering environments

Responsibilities

  • Assist in development of flight test plans, test cards, and procedures
  • Support test readiness reviews, risk assessments, and safety documentation
  • Verify aircraft configuration, instrumentation, and data readiness prior to test events
  • Support on-site flight test operations and test conduct
  • Monitor telemetry and system performance during ground and flight operations
  • Assist with execution of test points in accordance with approved procedures
  • Support go/no-go decision-making under direction of senior engineers or test directors
  • Collect, organize, and review flight test data
  • Assist with post-flight data reduction and basic analysis
  • Document test results, anomalies, and deviations from expected behavior
  • Support identification of trends, risks, and follow-on test requirements
  • Execute structured ground test procedures in support of flight readiness
  • Support subsystem and integrated system testing
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues prior to flight test events
  • Support on-aircraft validation campaigns as required
