About The Position

Flight Test Engineer I in GAC Savannah Unique Skills: We are seeking a highly motivated entry-level Flight Test Engineer, with less than 3 years of total experience, to join our team supporting on-aircraft flight testing and data analysis. This role is well‑suited for engineers with strong problem‑solving skills, a passion for aviation, and the ability to thrive in a hands‑on test environment. Candidates will be placed into one of our core Flight Test Engineering groups based on background and flight test engineering needs: Aerodynamics & Performance Avionics & Electrical Systems Powerplant & Mechanical Systems We are looking for applicants with academic or project experience in one or more of the following areas: Aircraft performance, handling qualities, flight controls, flutter, loads, or aerodynamics Avionics Electrical systems Powerplant engineering Mechanical systems Highly desired attributes: Experience writing flight test plans and/or flight test reports Experience with MATLAB, or Python Experience with data analysis Desired attributes: Experience deriving instrumentation requirements for on-aircraft flight testing Experience with 14 CFR Part 23, or Part 25 regulations Candidate with Pilot experience Experience with Honeywell Epic for Gulfstream Symmetry or PlaneView Experience with IADS or any real-time data monitoring systems Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree Engineering or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. Entry level. 0 to 18 months experience. Position Purpose:Performs engineering work related to the investigation and solution of basic problems associated with research, design, development, service and manufacture of Gulfstream aircraft.Job DescriptionPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions: Provides technical assistance to engineering staff and contributes by completing discrete engineering tasks on schedule . Using company procedures, applies engineering knowledge to resolve routine issues . Analyzes and evaluates results of project activities . Prepares recommendations for changes and compiles necessary reports for various department supervision . Recognizes discrepancies and/or problems with analysis/test results and works toward corrective action .Additional Functions: Actively works to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets customer requirements . Continues learning and developing knowledge of application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in assigned field of expertise .Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements: The level of technical skills and abilities appropriate for this grade level will be established by each discipline. Work is closely supervised/monitored, follows established procedures and methods. Failure to achieve results may cause delays in program schedules. Ability to convey technical concepts in both written and verbal formats. Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor, mentor, and other exempt professionals in the group or department. Works under general supervision for most tasks. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Entry level. 0 to 18 months experience
  • Ability to convey technical concepts in both written and verbal formats
  • This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Nice To Haves
