About The Position

Work as a Physician Office Float Coordinator, managing physicians’ clinic and O.R. schedules, patient appointments, obtaining all patient demographics, insurance information, referrals, pre-certifications and authorizations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
  • Two years prior experience working with physicians in a clinic setting is desired.
  • Great customer service skills and communication are necessary.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, practice management systems, electronic health records, insurance pre-authorization requirements, and general knowledge of clinic operations.
  • Ability to understand and interpret payer policies and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to address patients in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as patients' primary contact regarding office appointments and surgery scheduling.
  • Manage phone calls and appointment requests during normal business hours.
  • Maintain patient records in the EMR (Athena) system.
  • Documents all items in the practice management system and the document imaging system in a timely manner.
  • Must have good working knowledge of physician ordering process for imaging (MRI's, CT's, etc.)
  • Maintain Physician Assistant and/or Nurse Practitioner schedules.
  • Post surgical cases with the hospital O.R. following standard procedures while providing necessary records and documentation as needed.
  • Maintains timely communication in addressing patient questions and concerns.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and orthopedic ICD-10 codes.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality.
