The Float Pool Nurse (Inpatient nights) is the primary care coordinator of interdisciplinary patient care activities and is responsible for the management of patients throughout their continuum of care at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Responsible and accountable for high quality patient care through implementation of the nursing process including assessment of patient needs (physical, psychosocial, educational), design of a collaborative plan of care, implementation of the plan with appropriate delegation of tasks, coordination of team effort, and evaluation of patient progress towards outcomes. Acts as a patient/family advocate, she/he seeks opportunities to communicate and coordinate patient care activities throughout the continuum in collaboration with other members of the Health Care Team. The Float Pool Nurse is clinically competent in various patient care categories, as defined by the Float Pool Guidelines, and is assigned to the clinical areas based upon the needs of the institution for that day. The Float Pool Nurse will receive a differential, based upon the clinical competency track as defined by the Float Pool Guidelines, given their flexibility and competence to rotate throughout the institution. The Float Pool Nurse is required to work a minimum number of weekends and holidays as directed by the Float Pool Guidelines. This position is for Inpatient nights (7pm-7am). The candidate selected will be required to work at least 12 hours a pay period.
