About The Position

Fathom Manufacturing is hiring a Floating Business Development Representative (BDR) to act as a force multiplier for our Commercial Site Leaders across the country. This role exists for one reason: open doors that turn into RFQs, pipeline, and booked work for our sites. You will be deployed dynamically based on site capacity needs, helping local Commercial Site Leaders accelerate new logo penetration, re-engage dormant accounts, and convert conversations into real quoting activity. This is not a generic SDR role. You are tightly aligned to site utilization, near-term revenue, and commercial momentum. You succeed when sites are quoting more, meeting more prospects, and filling capacity faster.

Requirements

  • Early-career to mid-level sales or business development professional
  • Comfortable on the phone and energized by outbound activity
  • Curious about manufacturing, engineering, and how things get made
  • Organized, resilient, and metrics-driven
  • Able to move fast, take feedback, and adapt to different sites and markets
  • Motivated by learning the business and creating real commercial impact

Responsibilities

  • Outbound prospecting in support of specific Fathom sites and capacity needs
  • Meeting generation and RFQ discovery for Commercial Site Leaders
  • Early-stage qualification to ensure handoffs convert to real pipeline
  • Momentum creation in local markets where sites need load quickly
  • Execute high-volume outbound calling campaigns aligned to site-level priorities
  • Target net-new logos, dormant accounts, and under-penetrated regional manufacturers
  • Focus conversations on uncovering active programs and RFQ opportunities
  • Book qualified meetings directly onto Commercial Site Leaders’ calendars
  • Identify near-term quoting opportunities and ensure clean handoff to the site owner
  • Occasionally support light deal progression where it accelerates quoting
  • Rotate focus based on real-time site capacity needs
  • Quickly learn each site’s core processes, industries, and ideal customer profile
  • Act as an extension of the site’s commercial presence in the market
  • Track calls, meetings booked, and pipeline created with discipline
  • Maintain clean CRM data to ensure visibility into activity and impact
  • Provide regular updates on campaign effectiveness and market feedback

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Company-paid life insurance, short- and long-term disability
  • Paid time off, floating holidays, volunteer time off, and sick time (state-dependent)
  • 401(k) plan
