At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth’s orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space. We are looking for a design engineer with experience in flight vehicle fluid systems to act as a Cognizant Engineer (CogE), supporting the development and delivery of a New Glenn upper stage. As CogE, you will own the design, development, cost, manufacturability, and delivery of flight hardware. Knowledge of component design, CAD modelling, aerospace materials, stress analysis, and drawing creation, GD&T, manufacturing methods, part inspection and non-conformance management, and vendor management are needed. You will be expected to work within a team of fluids designers and to collaborate with cross-functional engineers to deliver fully developed and qualified designs integrated into the first launch vehicle. This upper stage is a space vehicle used to extend New Glenn’s market capability to support higher orbits and interplanetary missions. A large part of the challenge in this role will be to deliver simple, low-cost designs that fully meet the functional requirements of the fluid system. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Applicants which may be a level higher or lower are encouraged to apply.
