About The Position

Cheever’s Café has been a staple in Oklahoma City’s dining scene for over 25 years, known for its warm hospitality and elevated comfort food. We are looking for Hosts, Expos & Servers that are passionate individuals who aspire to create enduring memories and lasting relationships through a dedication to executional excellence, intentional service, extreme hospitality, and culinary trust.

Requirements

  • Must be 21+
  • No experience required for Host — we’ll train the right person!
  • Must be able to stand for up to 6 hours
  • Professional appearance and excellent communication skills
  • Friendly and calm under pressure
  • Possess a basic knowledge of dining room service procedures and functions for Expo
  • Possess a basic knowledge of kitchen and health code procedures for Expo
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to work in high pressure situations for Expo
  • Be able to lift and safely deliver at least 3 dishes at a time for Expo
  • Must have prior serving experience preferred for Server
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs for Server
  • Must possess strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit for Server

Responsibilities

  • Greet every guest with warmth and a smile
  • Answer phone calls and manage reservations in OpenTable
  • Provide accurate wait times and handle special seating requests
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand
  • Assist with bussing or drink service if needed
  • Thank guests upon departure and invite them back
  • Monitor ticket times and maintain food consistency throughout the shift and on a day-to-day basis
  • Communicate all requests and issues effectively between the FOH and BOH
  • Maintain the flower cooler and overall organization of its contents
  • Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and assist fellow employees as situations arise
  • Assist in pre-bussing, crumbing, and bussing tables where needed
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant including restrooms, counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas
  • Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues to restaurant manager
  • Assist in the restocking and replenishment of to-go supplies
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
  • Provide gracious and timely service
  • Have strong knowledge of the menu, daily features, and drink offerings
  • Take accurate orders and enter them efficiently into the POS
  • Assist guests with dietary needs or questions
  • Ensure tables are well-maintained throughout the meal
  • Handle payment transactions
