About The Position

Perform a variety of tasks surrounding the set-up and operation of a folding machine that folds sheets of paper into 4, 8, 12, 16, and 32-page sections. To operate cutting, folding and any additional auxiliary equipment as directed by the Bindery Supervisor within predetermined time frames as established in bid estimates. To be the shift focal point of communication relative to productivity, quality, and raw material usage on folding and cutting equipment. Perform a variety of tasks surrounding the set-up and operation of a folding machine that folds sheets of paper into 4, 8, 12, 16, and 32-page sections. Responsible for running folding or cutting equipment correctly and according to the manufacturing ticket instructions. Ensure production times meet or exceed estimated standards and control production to ensure jobs are shipped within pre-determined time frames.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Six (6) months of manufacturing or related experience.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all work groups.
  • Ability to read, do basic math and work with basic tools (screw drivers, wrenches, etc).
  • Ability to read a ruler and understand/use metric system
  • Basic computer skills to work with Windows type applications.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to do basic trouble shooting when the equipment is not functioning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work with the following tools or machinery: Micrometers Calipers Scales Pallet jack and lift Measuring device Retractable Knife Scraper Wrenches Air hose Hand tools
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime and other shifts required.
  • Prompt and reliable attendance required.
