Food and Beverage Runner
About The Position
We are looking for an energetic, professional food and beverage runner to join our vibrant restaurant. You will perform a range of tasks including preparing tables, serving orders, explaining meals and beverages, garnishing plates or beverage according to standards, ensuring all guests receive their food and beverage orders within set timing standards, and facilitating collaboration between kitchen, bar and wait staff. As a food and beverage runner, your ultimate goal will be to provide our guests with outstanding customer service and actively help to improve their overall dining experience. The ideal candidate will be friendly, professional, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. A successful food and beverage runner thrives in a fast-paced environment, can problem solve in high-pressure situations and remain calm, approachable and professional. The day to day responsibilities/qualification include but are not limited to:
Requirements
- A minimum of 2+ years' experience in a similar role.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Outstanding communication and people skills.
- Ability to stay professional in a stressful work environment.
- Superb multitasking skills.
- Available to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends, days, and nights as needed.
- Thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and maintain calm, through quickly and effectively problem solving under pressure.
- Must be hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service and respectful towards colleagues and guests.
- Ability to take direction, work in a team environment and autonomously.
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands and or trays.
- Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
- Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the restaurant to others.
- Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
- Regular ascending/descending stairs.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Frequent use of hand to finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms.
Responsibilities
- Assist guest's with their orders by explaining specials, meals, beverages, and make recommendations
- Deliver food and beverage orders to a variety of tables and guest's in a timely manner and to correct position numbers
- Accurately explain food and beverage orders to chefs and bar supervisors, with specific attention to allergies and special requests
- Help the wait staff set up tables by placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils, decorations, and napkins
- Uphold our food health safety and sanitation principles
- Occasionally check on guest's to handle any impromptu requests or issues
- Remove dirty dishes and glassware from the table and Inform management of positive or negative feedback received.
