About The Position

A Food Runner is responsible for supporting waitstaff in carrying beverage and meal items to designed tables. Their duties include communicating with waiters to determine their needs, carrying food items from the expediting counter to the proper table. POSITION AUTHORITY: The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below. POSITION GUIDELINES: Position guidelines include but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities.

Requirements

No prior experience required
Must obtain TABC & Food Handlers Certification before beginning work
Must be reliable and responsible
Must be able to stand and walk 8-10 hours a day
Must be able to lift 25+ pounds

Responsibilities

Deliver food orders to customers quickly and accurately
Uphold sanitation and food safety principles
Ensure customers experience is satisfactory
Relay report of customers satisfaction to the servers and management
Ensure patrons have all the appropriate tableware they need to properly enjoy their food upon delivery of food.
Handle various impromptu tasks in the dining room and kitchen
Must be able to read food service order tickets
Coordinates with line kitchen and wait staff for the best delivery of products and service
Keeps the expo line clean, organized, and ready for service
Coordinated with the back of the house kitchen staff to ensure the product meets expectations
Must be able to carry food service trays
Works well with others to ensure guest satisfaction
Any other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens
