New Paradigm for Education is seeking a friendly and reliable Part-Time Food Service Clerk to join our lunchroom team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to students and staff during lunch hours and ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of the lunchroom. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to creating a positive dining experience. Must be available between 7:15 a.m. - 1:45 p.m.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities below
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with cash handling procedures.
  • Commitment to providing a positive experience for students and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Count food received; food received should equal the number of meals ordered
  • Check portion sizes of meal components
  • Contact the Food Service Coordinator or Director if items are missing, unsafe and need to be replaced.
  • Count students as they come through the serving line ensuring they have a complete meal.
  • Complete lunch meal count form correctly
  • Assist monitoring the students after they are seated
  • Assist during clean up of each lunch period
  • Pass out breakfast to the classrooms and count sheets
  • Pickup/clean out breakfast bags daily
  • Collect breakfast count sheets, check for completeness
  • Turn in meal count forms weekly to the Food Service Coordinator
  • Assist in monitoring the meal service area to ensure proper procedures are being followed.
  • Complete Food Service Training/PD
  • Additional duties may include inventory, filing, data entry or copying documents
  • Fill/Complete breakfast bags between 7:15 am and 7:35 am.(K8) and 7:50 am - 8:05am(ECE)
  • Distribute breakfast to classrooms by 7:50am(K8) and 8:10am(ECE)
  • Pick up bags outside the classroom door between 8:30 (prek-5)
  • Students return breakfast bags to the cafeteria (6-12)
  • Clean and prep bags for the next morning
  • Pass out/Collect breakfast meal count forms
  • Monitor students exiting the meal service line, ensuring they have a complete meal
  • Assist monitoring food service staff to ensure proper procedures are being followed
  • Ensure meal are being set up in a timely manner
  • Assisting with students during their lunch period.
  • Assist cleanup of the cafeteria after each lunch period
  • Complete meal count form correctly
  • Ensure food service staff properly clean the serving area and kitchen before leaving
