About The Position

As an Express Service Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for customers seeking quick service or maintenance for their vehicles. Your primary role is to provide exceptional customer service, accurately assess service needs, and facilitate efficient vehicle servicing while ensuring a positive customer experience.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of customer service experience preferably in an automotive service environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; required to have California driver's license within 30 days following date of hire.
  • At least one year of verifiable driving experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.

  • Previous experience in customer service, retail, or automotive service environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Basic understanding of automotive services and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using standard office equipment and computer systems.
  • Familiarity with automotive terminology and basic vehicle maintenance is helpful but not necessary.
  • Ability to quickly learn company-specific service procedures and systems.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or in a fast-paced customer service environment is an advantage.
  • Basic automotive knowledge or an interest in the automotive industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and courteously as they arrive for express service appointments.
  • Understand their service needs and provide clear explanations of service options and pricing.
  • Perform initial vehicle inspections to determine service needs.
  • Provide recommendations for additional services or repairs based on manufacturer guidelines and vehicle condition.
  • Schedule and manage appointments for express services.
  • Ensure that all necessary parts and resources are available to complete services in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding service status, updates, and any changes to the original service plan.
  • Conduct follow-up calls or communications with customers to ensure satisfaction with the completed service and address any additional concerns or questions.
  • Work closely with service technicians and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of services.
  • Relay any special instructions or requirements to the service team.
  • Drive a customer's vehicle to verify certain issues or to ensure that the vehicle is operating correctly before or after the service. This could include checking for noises, vibrations, or any specific complaints the customer has raised.
  • Moving vehicles around the service area or shop to reposition them for further work or to make space for other vehicles.
  • Promote and upsell additional services or products based on customer needs and vehicle condition.
  • Inform customers of special offers or promotions.
  • Handle cashier duties, including processing payments and managing service invoices.
  • Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
