Purpose of Role The Foreign Exchange Operations Intern supports daily foreign exchange (FX) and interest rate operations by ensuring the accurate entry, review, and maintenance of trade data within internal systems. The role is responsible for assisting with reconciliation activities by identifying and documenting basic trade or cash breaks, monitoring operational inboxes, and routing inquiries or exceptions to senior team members. In addition, this role helps update spreadsheets, logs, and reference data used for trade support, prepares simple reports or summaries for team meetings, and conducts preliminary research to contribute to process‑improvement or automation initiatives. The role also collaborates closely with operations staff to build foundational knowledge of trade lifecycle processes and internal controls.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics or finance is preferred but business analytics, computer science, mathematics, and risk management are accepted.
  • Genuine interest in one or more of the program’s departmental tracks.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship, including, but not limited to, F-1, J-1, and M-1 visa holders, as well as individuals on CPT or OPT.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with reviewing and entering FX and interest rate trade data into operational systems.
  • Support daily reconciliation tasks by identifying and documenting basic trade or cash breaks.
  • Help monitor operational inboxes and route questions or exceptions to senior team members.
  • Update and maintain spreadsheets, logs, and reference data used for trade support activities.
  • Assist with preparing simple reports, dashboards, or summaries for team meetings.
  • Conduct preliminary research to support process improvement or automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with operations staff to learn trade lifecycle processes and internal controls.
