About The Position

Leaders sought. Immediate need for leaders who can drive Accountability in a Professional, Civil environment. Must be able to demonstrate ability to lead with: Fairness, Consistency, Respectfulness and Transparency. Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge. Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed. Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees, and assists in development of training procedures. Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans. Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to all drawings, procedures, etc. Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance. Supervises qualified trades staff; monitoring job and budget performance for all shifts. Perform management duties for Pipe department, including Safety, Quality, Cost and Schedule Additional common management responsibilities as listed in Shipbuilding Management Charter 0001 within command media (SBMC 0001) and applicants should review the Charter and policies and procedures before applying for position.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED and 18 months of Pipe experience or an Associates Degree/2-Year Technical Degree or Ingalls Pipe Apprenticeship.
  • Superior Attendance and Disciplinary Record.
  • Candidate cannot have more than 3 unexcused absences in the last 180 day period.
  • Candidate cannot have any safety DANS that result in a disciplinary layoff in last 180 day period.
  • Candidate cannot have more than 2 total DANS in the last 180 day period (excluding lost tool).
  • Documented leadership qualities / experience including:
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned.
