About The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented and tech savvy field technician to assist with entry-level Forestry work on state lands in northwest Vermont. Employment runs approximately from May through November, but exact dates may be flexible depending on candidate. Project duties may include forest inventory, timber sale marking, boundary line marking, road and trail maintenance, kiosk and gate installation and maintenance, introduced plant management, hazard tree removal, trailhead maintenance, trail project oversight, road and trail assessments, general road maintenance, wildlife habitat improvement, and data management. The selected candidate will work with the State Land staff to create a work plan and execute identified projects.
