Summary/Objective The forklift operator position performs all tasks involved in the production of the company’s OCTG goods. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Supervisor Responsibilities: None Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area to reflect a positive image of themselves and the company. All personal protective equipment (PPE) must be inspected by the employee and worn upon direction of supervisors, managers, and the safety manager. Participate in mandatory safety or PPE training and notify their supervisor when new PPE is necessary. Maintain a clean, neat and groomed personal appearance to reflect a positive image of themselves and the company. Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload OCTG goods and delivers and moves them to and from storage areas, machines and loading trucks, in designated storage areas. Obtains a copy of production paperwork and transports material or equipment to designated Safely moves material around the facility Stacks material in the correct storage area, following inventory control instructions Checks that all loads are secure Perform daily equipment checks such as recharging the trucks battery and lubricating equipment Notify supervisor of any mechanical, leaking or material issues in a timely fashion. Coordinate and expedite repair/assembly operations with Inspection Manager. Evaluate self-work to ensure compliance with work instructions and standards. Log completed work and prepare necessary documentation.
