About The Position

The forklift operator will be responsible for loading trailers with the correct product and unloading trailers with supplies utilizing a forklift. The forklift operator will ensure that the pallets being loaded are the right products, and that the proper hold code is utilized when a product/pallet is placed on hold. The forklift operator will also scan all product into the MITTS correctly and placing the scanned product in the freezer accordingly. The forklift driver will also ensure that the freezer is maintained cleaned and will keep an accurate count on all the production going into the freezer as well as on the trucks loaded. The forklift operator will also keep up with the rework flow from shipping to the production lines and vice versa and will be responsible for staking fat and rotating/organizing the blast in the proper order and will assist in the condemnation of production. The forklift operator will also ensure that production has all the necessary labels and bags to run and will communicate any issues/problem within the area to the Supervisor, as well as any other suggestions/issues that arise. Team member in this position must be able to obtain the forklift license/permit after receiving the adequate training, which will consist of 2 weeks and must be willing to lift/pull/push up to 50 pounds. The forklift operator will also perform any other duties as assigned/requested by Supervisor.

Requirements

  • 6 months of continuous work history in the last 12 months
  • Prior Employee Waiting Period: If you were previously employed at Tyson, there’s a 180-day waiting period before you can reapply.
  • Number of Times Worked at Tyson: You can apply if you’ve worked at Tyson no more than two times.
  • Failed Drug Screen - if you had a failed drug screen, you must wait 6 months before reapplying.
  • This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Must be able to obtain the forklift license/permit after receiving the adequate training, which will consist of 2 weeks

Responsibilities
