About The Position

Wright Manufacturing, Inc. (WMI), an award-winning producer of commercial grade lawn equipment, is looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to join our Internal Logistics Team. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, earning overtime at time and one half for hours worked over 40 hours per week. Schedule is typically Monday through Friday 6:00AM-2:30PM. Occasional work on Saturdays may be needed as workflows dictate. Opportunity for overtime is available but not guaranteed

Requirements

  • Extensive sit-down forklift experience required within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Consistent work history
  • Ability to work in an environment that is not climate controlled
  • Ability to work in a moderate to high noise level environment
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance
  • Positive, team player attitude
  • Strong, independent work ethic
  • Good organizational skills
  • Candidates must be able to pass a Forklift skill assessment.

Nice To Haves

  • Stand up forklift experience a huge plus
  • RF Equipment experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Operate LP sit-down forklift to support our Crating Line (sit down forklift)
  • Manage Finished Goods inventory for your shift
  • Respond to radio calls from Group Leaders and Team Leaders to perform forklift duties as requested (stand up/sit down forklift)
  • Ensure proper FIFO inventory processes are followed always
  • Daily inspection of Toyota forklift
  • Waste stream management- transport cardboard, empty pallets, wood scrap, etc. to proper locations and process accordingly (baling, transporting product outside)
  • Inventory Control/stocking home locations for assigned aisles (mostly stand up forklift)
  • Assist in 5S Methodology (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) and manage warehouse housekeeping assignments
  • Assist with special projects and rework as necessary
  • Contribute to and participate in Kaizen projects to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost
