About The Position

Clean Harbors located in La Porte, TX is seeking a Forklift Receiving Technician to join their team. The Receiving Technician will work on the receiving docks, operating forklifts to unload vans and box trucks. They will also be main area scanning the items in the load using a scanner ensuring the piece counts are correct and will have to learn over 100 waste codes/as well as destination codes. There will be some manual work needed, using tools to open containers to remove the waste for processing. Computer work will be needed to fix discrepancies and input waste for tracking. Shift: 2nd shift position (2:30 pm-11:00 pm), training will be completed on a day shift for several weeks (6:00 am- 3:30 pm) Pay: $19.00+ $1.75 shift differential Special Note: Overtime is available as needed by the location Why work for Clean Harbors? Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Forklift experience is required
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to use computer
  • Ability to lift 50 or more pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Scanning, receiving or inventory experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Performs daily tasks of operating forklifts on multiple ramps/docks to receive and offload waste containers from vans and box trucks
  • Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for waste tracking movements, ability to use scanner to receive waste
  • Will be required to learn over 100 waste codes and destination codes during training
  • Computer work will be needed to input waste for tracking and fix/track discrepancies in loads found while scanning
  • Will also have manual labor involved, using hand tools to open some crates of waste for scanning purposes
  • Other duties as assigned by management
