Requirements

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and understanding Statistical Process Control.
  • Competence in loading, operating, and unloading injection molding machines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, reflecting fundamental education and skills as a minimum qualification.
  • Comprehensive mechanical understanding of equipment, tooling, controls, and operations.
  • Knowledge of computer skills, including Windows-based systems, Titan, and basic data entry.
  • Proficient in identifying and resolving forming-related process and equipment issues independently.
  • Strong analytical abilities to detect printing or material-related variations.
  • Proficiency in creating comprehensive documentation and effectively communicating job-related information to colleagues and management.
  • Familiarity with optimal safety, housekeeping, and PPE practices within the department and the company.
  • Ability to interpret and understand job tickets for efficient task execution.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to predetermined productivity and quality benchmarks.
  • Conduct press setup by mounting die into equipment, positioning and clamping frames and plates, and configuring press parameters via a computer-controlled electronics information center.
  • Execute press tear-down by removing forming tools, unclamping frames and plates, and preparing the press for the subsequent job, utilizing tool-specific binders containing their respective recipes.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on equipment.
  • Collaborate with press operators from previous and following shifts, discussing specific instructions, job status, and addressing any irregularities.
  • Accurately document all pertinent information in the labor reporting system, QA forms, job tickets, and move tags.
  • Load or remove sheet form press/hopper as needed.
  • Empower all colleagues responsible for ensuring quality to halt production to rectify quality issues, promptly informing management about non-conforming products or processes.
  • Ensure strict adherence to environmental practices, policies, and procedures for proper material handling and disposal.
  • Emphasize key aspects: recycling, energy conservation, waste reduction, and efficient process control for minimizing scrap.
