About The Position

The Foundation Brake NVH Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of brake system NVH performance and customer satisfaction. This position requires leadership and technical expertise in the field of NVH as related to foundation brake systems. Lead and oversee all brake system foundation brake Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) testing for electromechanical brake actuators (EMB) across North America, ensuring adherence to internal and external customer requirements Orchestrate global coordination of foundation brake NVH testing and procedures, communicating effectively with both internal departments and external service providers to maintain consistency and excellence in testing, measurement, and analysis methodologies. Serve as the primary point of contact for global coordination of foundation brake NVH discussions, requirements, and procedures directly with internal and external customers. Facilitate and drive global coordination of foundation brake NVH topics with platform team NVH experts, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and problem-solving in brake system NVH development. Continuously monitor and analyze NVH testing results, providing comprehensive reports and recommendations to management and relevant stakeholders to drive product improvements and maintain competitive advantage in the market.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in brake system NVH is strongly preferred, underscoring the critical nature of this role.
  • Educational requirements include a Bachelor's degree in engineering, with a Master's degree or higher being highly advantageous.
  • The ideal candidate for this position must possess extensive and demonstrable experience in foundation brake NVH, encompassing a comprehensive understanding of vehicle city traffic schedules, testing methods, and analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in corner assembly NVH dyno testing methods, procedures, and analysis tools is essential, as is expertise in component level NVH testing methods such as FRF and mode/deflection shapes.
  • A thorough knowledge of NVH countermeasures, including rotor material and geometry changes, caliper modifications, and brake pad modifications/insulators, is required.
  • The successful applicant will have a proven track record in NVH simulation methods, particularly complex eigenvalue analysis and other CAE tools, as well as extensive experience in brake pulsation/roughness procedures and mitigation strategies.
  • The position demands a demonstrated ability to actively lead and participate in global NVH teams, developing NVH test methods and procedures in collaboration with internal departments and external service providers.
  • Furthermore, the candidate must exhibit exceptional skills in coordinating and leading global NVH discussions, requirements, and procedures directly with customers.
