About The Position

An established Los Angeles luxury dog resort is expanding to Dallas, and we are seeking a Founding General Manager to lead the launch of our newest location. For more than a decade, our flagship facility in California has built a reputation for exceptional care, thoughtful design, and an environment where dogs can safely play, socialize, and relax under professional supervision. As we expand into Texas, we’re looking for a strong operational leader to help establish the same standards of excellence in Dallas. This is a rare opportunity to build a team, shape the culture of a new facility, and lead the launch of a flagship location from the ground up. While a love of dogs is important, success in this role depends on strong leadership, operational discipline, and the ability to manage a busy multi-department service business. Our Dallas location is being designed from the ground up to provide a premium environment for dogs, including: Private overnight boarding suites Fully supervised cage-free daycare playgroups Spacious indoor and outdoor play areas Synthetic turf yards designed for safety and cleanliness Shaded cabanas and enrichment areas Wading pools for warm Texas days Comfortable indoor spaces for rest and relaxation Every element of the resort is designed to deliver a high-quality hospitality-level experience for both dogs and their owners. As Founding General Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operations of the Dallas resort and lead the development of a high-performing team. This role is ideal for a hands-on operations leader who enjoys managing complex facilities, developing staff, and delivering exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced service environment. Candidates who succeed in this position typically come from hospitality, operations, or multi-department service environments where they have experience maintaining high service standards and leading diverse teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of management experience (hospitality, pet care, or operations preferred)
  • Proven leadership and team-building ability
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working around dogs of all sizes and temperaments
  • Experience using business management software (Gingr experience is a plus)
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays
  • A genuine passion for dogs combined with a commitment to professional standards of care

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations across all departments: Daycare, Boarding, Grooming, Front Office, and Facilities
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop a strong local team
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing leadership and coaching
  • Build strong client relationships and resolve service concerns professionally
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures while implementing operational improvements
  • Manage staff scheduling, payroll coordination, inventory, and cash handling
  • Prepare and submit operational and financial reports
  • Support marketing initiatives and oversee social media engagement
  • Coordinate vendor relationships and facility maintenance
  • Transport dogs to veterinary appointments when necessary
  • Maintain compliance with Texas safety and employment regulations
