About The Position

Our client is an early-stage fintech startup reimagining how people share and manage money together. They are building a next-generation, multi-user financial account that enables collaborative ownership, transparent spending, and flexible financial controls—unlocking entirely new use cases for shared finances. With strong early traction (40,000+ user waitlist), established banking partnerships, and regulatory infrastructure already in place, the company is uniquely positioned to scale quickly in a highly defensible market. The team is small, highly experienced, and deeply product-focused, with backgrounds from leading fintech and consumer companies. This is a rare opportunity to join as one of the first engineers and play a foundational role in shaping both the product and the company.

Requirements

3–10 years of full-stack software engineering experience
Strong experience building and shipping consumer-facing products
Proficiency in TypeScript (React) and backend development (Go preferred)
Experience designing APIs and working with databases such as PostgreSQL
Background in startup environments, ideally early-stage or high-growth companies
Ability to own large product areas end-to-end with minimal guidance
Strong product sense and attention to user experience and detail
Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with high ownership
Based in the Bay Area (or planning to relocate) and willing to work hybrid

Nice To Haves

Experience in fintech or consumer financial products (e.g., payments, banking, crypto)
Background at high-growth startups and/or top-tier tech companies
Experience with Redis, AWS, Docker, Terraform, or modern cloud infrastructure
Familiarity with KYC, fraud detection, or financial compliance systems
Experience using AI tools for coding, prototyping, or development workflows
Strong academic background in Computer Science or related field

Responsibilities

Build and ship end-to-end product features across frontend, backend, APIs, and infrastructure
Own major product areas (e.g., payments, cards, risk systems) from concept to production
Design and implement scalable APIs and services using Go, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL
Develop intuitive, high-quality user experiences using React and modern frontend tooling
Work closely with the founder, engineers, and designer to rapidly iterate on product ideas
Help scale systems and infrastructure to support rapid user growth and high transaction volume
Contribute to internal tools, risk systems, and KYC/fraud workflows critical to fintech operations
Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate prototyping and shipping
Play a key role in defining engineering standards, product direction, and team culture

Benefits

Competitive base salary: $190,000 – $210,000
