About The Position

Sphere is using AI to codify the world's international trade law. We currently help companies like Lovable, Eleven Labs, Replit, Deel, Windsurf (+ many more) automate their sales tax, VAT and GST compliance: We're growing rapidly (30%+ MoM revenue growth) and helping the fastest growing tech companies around the world including Lovable, Eleven Labs, Replit, Windsurf, Deel, Linktree, Fal, Sierra AI etc We’ve spent the last 2 years building local rails into 100+ tax authorities across the world to properly automate compliance processes (no other vendor has done this) We're building the world's first AI-native tax engine (which will be the foundation for a broader cross border compliance platform; think Deel for revenue-based compliance) We're well funded by a16z, YC, 20vc and Felicis Ventures. Sphere is looking for a Founding Recruiter in San Francisco to work closely with the Founder to help scale out our Engineer, Product, GTM, Ops and Tax team. Requirements

  • Proven experience building out early stage teams - especially engineering teams.
  • Strong network in the engineering community - ideally SF's engineering community
  • Hunter: Grit > pedigree.
  • Fast shipper: If it can be done today, do it today.
  • Self-starter: No hand-holding
  • Creativity: Don't copy what everyone else is doing; do things differently.
  • In-person: SF only.

Nice To Haves

  • You have experience as both an internal and external recruiter
  • You have a presence on social media and can drive engagement (i.e. you're vocal)

Responsibilities

  • Help 3x our team size in the next 12 months - there will be a particular focus on engineering / product hiring.
  • Planning and executing on hiring-related marketing campaigns - sourcing and scheduling hiring events, social content and outbound campaigns, managing external recruiters to drive Sphere's top of funnel for candidates.
  • Build the foundations around our hiring process - sourcing, onboarding, performance evaluation and more
  • Enhance our internal culture - office build-out (703 Market Street), weekly rituals, offsites etc
