About The Position

As an FPGA Engineer at Tycho AI, you will design, build, and validate accelerators for intelligent autonomous systems. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of electrical, mechanical, and software experts to explore new concepts through rapid, iterative prototyping. We are seeking adaptable engineers who collaborate effectively across disciplines, brainstorm innovative ideas, and navigate through emerging embedded technologies. Most importantly, you should have a proven ability to drive a concept through the prototype phase and excel in hardware/software co-development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of FPGA design experience using Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL
  • 3+ years of FPGA design experience using AMD/Xilinx or Intel/Altera devices, Gowin or Lattice
  • Programming familiarity in C and/or C++
  • Programming experience in one or more scripting languages such as Python, tcl, shell scripts, or equivalent EDA tool scripting languages
  • Experience developing accompanying firmware to exercise and drive FPGA prototypes

Nice To Haves

  • Experiences with HLS for fast hardware prototyping
  • Experiences with robotics algorithms and ROS2 integration
  • Experiences with software-defined radio (SDR)
  • Experiences with electronic warfare (EW) and/or RADAR
  • Experiences with ASIC designflow
  • Experiences working with embedded robotics platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson

Responsibilities

  • Define, build, and enhance FPGA-based prototyping platforms
  • Utilize rapid FPGA prototyping techniques to validate technical feasibility of algorithmic subsystems
  • Familiarity with computer architectural techniques for enabling high-throughput, resource-efficient acceleration
  • Build vendor-neutral FPGA/RTL designs intended to prototype ASIC implementations
  • Coordinate with 3rd party vendors for software, firmware, and IP cores
  • Create FPGA interface documentation for hardware/software interfaces
  • Collaborate in a team environment spanning various technical domains
