Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing upon hire and Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire
  • Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association. Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing
  • One year of related work experience in an acute care setting
  • Previous E.D. experience current within the last 2 years or Critical care experience, current within the last 2 years or New graduate or RNs without E.D. or Critical Care experience AND successful completion of the E.D. residency program.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program, within 12 - months
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 - months
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 12 - months or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course, within 12 - months

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of medical emergencies, including but not limited to: Cardiac issues Respiratory distress Neurological events Gastrointestinal issues Musculoskeletal injuries
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examination.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications, perform procedures, and monitor patient responses to treatment.
  • Educate patients and families about their condition, treatment plan, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic medical records.
  • Collaborate effectively with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, technicians, and support staff.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and safety protocols.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.
