About The Position

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented freelance Content Writer to join our editorial team. Do you believe in the power of food to support both body and mind? In this role, you will craft compelling, high-quality written health and wellbeing content that inspires, educates, and engages Thrive Global’s audience across digital platforms. You’ll play a key role in developing stories and resources that align with our mission, while ensuring content reflects our voice, values, and evidence-based approach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a health-related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of professional writing or editorial experience, ideally in digital media, wellness, health, science or business content.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to search PubMed and Google Scholar, interpret medical journals, and adhere to a rigorous medical citation and review process.
  • Ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and formats.
  • Familiarity with SEO, digital publishing platforms, and content management systems.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Passion for Thrive Global’s mission to improve wellbeing and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Research, write, and edit engaging, science-based health, well-being, and leadership content—including articles, newsletters, webinars, health curricula, challenges, video scripts, and thought leadership pieces.
  • Collaborate with editorial, product, and marketing teams to develop content strategies that support business goals.
  • Translate complex ideas (e.g., behavior change science, well-being research) into accessible and relatable content.
  • Ensure all content maintains the highest standards of scientific accuracy, supported by peer-reviewed research.
  • Ensure all content is consistent with Thrive Global’s brand voice, style, and standards.
  • Stay up-to-date on health, wellness, productivity, workplace culture, and mental health trends to inform storytelling.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
