Receptionist Job Description: The Front Desk Floater provides flexible front-desk and administrative support to ensure uninterrupted customer service coverage. This role primarily assists with covering receptionist breaks, lunches, vacations, and unexpected absences, as well as supporting high-volume call periods. The position is designed to supplement—not replace—the primary receptionist and requires a high level of adaptability and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Full-time position with a variable schedule based on business needs
  • Standard workday consists of 8.5-hour shifts with a 30-minute meal break
  • Work schedule may vary week to week depending on staffing and coverage requirements
  • Fluent English speaking and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the automotive industry
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others and be a team player
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills
  • Experience performing administrative and organizational tasks
  • Professional dress, speech, behavior, and appearance

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred (not required)

Responsibilities

  • Provide front desk coverage during scheduled breaks, lunches, vacations, and unplanned absences (illness, appointments, emergencies)
  • Greets, all customers in a warm, sincere, and helpful manner
  • Directs customers to the appropriate department or point-of-contact
  • Manages inbound phone inquiries and routes calls accordingly
  • Coordinates questions and issues with required department personnel
