It Takes A Village Childcare Center, a branch of Friendship Village Retirement Community, provides childcare services 24 hrs / 365 days childcare to family throughout the Cedar Valley. It Takes a Village Childcare (a subsidiary of Friendship Village) is looking for a full-time front office receptionist. It Takes a Village Childcare is a new childcare facility providing safe, secure, fun, and loving childcare 24 hours a day / 365 days a year. The front office assistant/receptionist is responsible for: Provides superior customers service; answers phones and greeting parents, children, and other individuals entering the facility. Responsible for a variety of office duties including; sorts and distributes mail; faxing; filing; preparing reports, letters, and other documentation. Assists with child care scheduling and attendance records Keeps accurate record of child care paper work and compliance documentation, entering information into ProCare childcare software system. Accurately prepares billing statements, records payments and other transaction. Assist with inventory control and orders office supplies. Demonstrates an understanding of state daycare licensure requirements. Assist with daily childcare and child development and learning as needed. Ability to work pleasantly and professionally with teachers and to show empathy and understanding for young children and their parents. Assist with daily housekeeping duties, toy maintenance, preparing room etc.

Requirements

  • 2 yrs previous office/front desk experience required
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Applicants are required to pass pre-employment screenings that could include: Criminal background checks, Abuse registry check, Drug test, Physical, and TB test.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Procare or other Childcare management systems, preferred
  • Basic understanding of state daycare licensure, preferred
  • Previous childcare experience, preferred
