Position Purpose: CDL License position will be responsible for safely operating a Front End Load truck in the greater Atlanta area. This will entail inspecting the vehicle for any defects or potential malfunctions, general maintenance duties, working with dispatch and mobile applications to map routes to customer locations, driving to location, where customers specify, and delivering contents to a transfer station or landfill.

Requirements

High school diploma
2-years experience driving commercial vehicles; 2-years experience driving front end load truck
Possess a CDL Class B license for the State of Georgia
Requires a clean driving record
Ability to operate a front end load truck
High level of safety awareness driving and operating equipment
Ability to speak and read English
Basic Knowledge of smart phone and computers
Sufficient mechanical ability

Responsibilities

The Front Load Driver operates refuse collection vehicles on pre-assigned and special routes to pick up garbage.
Responsible for the safe operation of the truck which includes: pre-trip and post-trip inspections, evaluation of materials left for collections, determination of whether those materials include any hazardous materials, decision making and judgment regarding what materials may be placed safely in the truck for transport, and ensures the safety of each employee encountered.
Inspect/Clean Truck: Lift hood, inspect under the hood, walk around and check under carriage; pump gas, check fluid levels and air tires - Uses air gauge, dipstick for levels, and gas pump nozzle for gas fill.
Cleans waste from the packer blade and the truck body on each landfill run to ensure smooth and safe operations.
Communicates professionally with customers and reports any customer issues / complaints to appropriate internal contacts.
Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
