About The Position

The FSQ Supervisor plays a key leadership role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across plant operations. Reporting to the FSQ Manager, this position is responsible for supervising FSQ Technicians, supporting the Food Safety Management System, and driving continuous improvement across Food Safety and Quality programs. The FSQ Supervisor serves as a technical resource, people leader, and cross-functional partner in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or people supervision experience in food or beverage manufacturing or demonstrated leadership capability in prior roles.
  • At least 5 years of experience in food or beverage manufacturing, preferably across Quality, Food Safety, and Production functions.
  • Knowledge and experience in food or beverage testing and laboratory operations.
  • Practical experience developing and implementing Quality, Food Safety, and GMP programs and systems.
  • HACCP training and hands-on experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Ability to enforce Food Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated people leadership, coaching, and team-building experience.
  • Ability to adapt to changing operational and organizational needs and lead others through change.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Support the FSQ Manager in building and developing a high-performing team in a collaborative, accountable, and continuous-improvement-focused environment.
  • Supervise, coach, develop, plan, and continuously evaluate the performance of FSQ Technicians.
  • Schedule and oversee daily work activities and training for FSQ Technicians.
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to FSQ Technicians, as needed.
  • Provide technical support and leadership across HACCP, GMP, CIP Management, and Internal Audit programs.
  • Supervise Critical Control Point (CCP) monitoring activities and review records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure instruments associated with CCPs are calibrated according to schedule.
  • Drive compliance with GMP procedures and routines throughout plant operations.
  • Lead and support resolution of CAPA reports related to food safety deviations, product holds, and customer complaints.
  • Coordinate monitoring, verification, and validation activities within HACCP Plans and Pre-Requisite Programs.
  • Support the development and delivery of Food Safety training programs and training materials.
  • Provide technical support for Change Control activities impacting food safety.
  • Support and lead Food Safety components of the Stage & Gate process.
  • Coordinate and verify sanitation and allergen control monitoring, validation, and effectiveness.
  • Execute and coordinate Food Safety Management System monitoring and verification activities.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, as needed.
  • Coordinate and execute pre-operation inspections of manufacturing equipment.
  • Track, report, and communicate Food Safety KPIs.
  • Provide leadership during third-party Food Safety and Regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Support and contribute to CAPA responses resulting from audits and inspections.
  • Execute and supervise Quality Monitoring Plan activities across manufacturing lines and business units.
  • Supervise evaluation, standardization, and approval of product batches prior to processing.
  • Provide technical leadership during third-party Quality audits.
  • Support development and execution of CAPA plans related to Quality audits, deviations, and customer complaints.
  • Support and lead Quality aspects of the Stage & Gate process.
  • Track, report, and communicate Quality KPIs.
  • Support the FSQ Manager in determining disposition of finished product hold events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
