Summary Illinois Central College is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated faculty member to teach instructor within the American Sign Language and Interpreter Preparation Program and includes significant leadership responsibilities as Program Coordinator. Prepare and manage course sites within in learning management system, create syllabi, instruction materials, and coordinate lectures, tests, and assessments. Organize courses with practical and technical instruction involving demonstration of the skills required by the industry, lectures on theory, practices, methods, processes, and terminology. Teach courses in assigned course and assesses learning outcomes. Instructs students by explaining, demonstrating, and overseeing exercises and providing advice on immediate topics. Plan and supervise work of students in the classroom or laboratory setting. Serve as program academic advisor. Recruit and orient new students. Seek professional development to remain current with workforce trends, emerging technology, and the latest teaching tools. Maintain professional skills through regular professional development, and other activities appropriate to higher education faculty. Collaboratively work with full-time and adjunct faculty members. Mentor adjunct faculty members. Maintain highest possible standards of classroom instruction. Actively serve on college committees. Actively participate in institutional meetings. Perform related duties as assigned.
