About The Position

The Fulfillment Optimization Coordinator is responsible for maximizing warehouse efficiency through strategic product placement (slotting) and packaging accuracy. This role ensures that every item is stored in the most accessible location and that every outgoing order is shipped in the most cost-effective, right-sized container. This position is responsible for ensuring that pick-and-pack functions are efficient, that warehouse space is optimally utilized, and that outbound shipments are packed to ensure a high-quality delivery to the customer with minimal wasted space in the container.

Requirements

  • Experience in a fulfillment/distribution center environment is required
  • 2-year minimum experience in inventory/quality control/item slotting
  • Willingness to become forklift certified is required
  • Proficiency within a Warehouse Management System (WMS) is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
  • Experience in data manipulation and analysis is required
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Great people skills, excellent teamwork, and communication skills
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk regularly, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Operating in a collaborative environment

Responsibilities

  • Location utilization – ensure proper utilization of various location types, including pallet storage, hand-stack, and picking locations. This requires consolidation within and across location types, with the goal of maximizing the location cube and overall location availability for new receipts/inventory.
  • Item profiles – determine proper setups for all newly received items, including item and casepack dimensions and casepack quantities, as well as location capacities. Maintain an accurate profile for all existing items through a regular audit regimen and system reports.
  • Slotting – through regular analysis of item characteristics and velocity, pick-path, and seasonal trends, ensure proper location type, size, and position for all existing, as well as all new items, to maximize efficiencies in Putaway, Picking, and Replenishment.
  • Shipping container optimization – having oversight of the logic of outbound container usage, ensuring that the optimal shipping container type and size are being utilized for all outbound shipments, reducing dimensional weight and actual weight variance in carrier shipments.
  • Reporting - Distribute timely reporting for location utilization/capacities and slotting on a regular cadence.
