About The Position

Full Service Clinic Supervisor Join our growing team as we prepare to open a brand-new hospital in 2026! The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a full-time Spay/Neuter Clinic Supervisor to join our team. This position offers a consistent 4x10 schedule, with shifts rotating Monday through Saturday between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., including rotating Saturdays. A day in the Life: As the Full Service Clinic Supervisor, you will supervise all operational aspects of the Full Service Clinic department while championing the AHS core values of Innovation, Compassion, and Excellence. This position is on the floor working alongside the team to model and teach patient care and improve efficiencies. You will be responsible for the coordination of activities with other departments to ensure efficient flow and treatment of all animals. You will communicate effectively and work closely with the Manager to update and implement new/existing policies and procedures to keep the Sunnyslope Veterinary Clinic in adherence to all board and humane alliance requirements. You will compile and report all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual statistical data. You will work with DEA license holders' to adhere to DEA requirements for all controlled drugs and work with premise holder and lead veterinarian to ensure clinic compliance for all Federal and State licensing. You will have effective communication with leadership and have the ability to multitask in a high-volume environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma OR GED
  • Graduation from technical school (preferred) plus two years of practical experience in a veterinary clinic and at least two years of supervisory experience
  • Perform all duties of a veterinary technician and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate commitment to public clinics initiatives with a positive attitude
  • Communicate in an effective and professional manner with the public and all staff members
  • Know veterinary medical concepts, including, but not limited to vaccine protocols and anesthetic risks and be able to properly communicate such information to clients
  • When Veterinarian has documented information about an animal's condition, be able to effectively relay that information to clients
  • Perform technician duties with other technicians
  • Work well both independently and cooperatively as part of the team and remain composed while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Stay current in knowledge of emergency drugs and protocols
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and background screening to be compliant with DEA requirements for dispensing controlled drugs

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of medical records and data entered through computer program
  • Oversee the completion of opening and closing duties of public clinic technicians, including the thorough cleaning and disinfection of the clinic
  • Assist with or perform and properly document euthanasia
  • Relay messages from veterinarians regarding the treatment of a specific case and answering questions regarding the daily care and treatment of animals
  • Train and evaluate the progress of new technicians and technician trainees
  • Ensure restocking and cleanliness of the clinic and surgery areas
  • Monitor medical supplies for expiration
  • Maintain DEA drug logs
  • Maintain microchip logs and ensure they are accurate and up to date, compile reports for grants and gifts
  • Update and present cases monthly
