About The Position

As a full stack engineer on the engineering team, you’ll play a key role in facilitating our growth team’s product focused campaigns and outreach. These campaigns could be ongoing member outreach and engagement or particular one off campaigns. Additionally, you will contribute to our core front end software team and ensure our web Study and CMS products maintain their high level of quality and stability. In this role, you won’t just write code — you’ll be on the front lines guiding our members to success. You’ll work closely with talented teammates across marketing, engineering, product, and design to define and rapidly iterate on rough ideas. Your work will likely touch every layer of our stack — making connections with our application server, analytics engine and messaging platform. This is an ideal role for someone who is self motivated, thrives on thoughtful problem-solving and enjoys iterative learning & testing.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional full stack experience, a majority w/ TypeScript and NodeJS
  • Deep knowledge of TypeScript and functional programming patterns
  • Experience implementing analytics platforms
  • Strong focus on code quality, testing, and documentation
  • An engineer’s mindset - writing code that will stand the test of time and address the core problems, not just the symptoms
  • A desire to collaborate with the team, knowledge share, mentor, and work together to find optimal solutions
  • Comfortable being nimble and experimental while recognizing the core functionality can’t be negatively impacted by ‘add on’ efforts
  • A love for continued learning individually and as a team, as well as making education more accessible for others

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Vue.js
  • Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
  • Experience working on projects from ideation and inception through working prototype

Responsibilities

  • Connect and track new platforms for member engagement
  • Expand our knowledge and capabilities by continually monitoring member response to outreach
  • Work closely with fellow engineers to align backend and frontend efforts, solve challenging problems, and ensure seamless cross-platform functionality
  • Pitch in across the stack to ensure our many web & server clients are well reviewed during employee vacations and significant new releases
  • Champion engineering excellence by evolving our internal standards, mentoring peers, and fostering a strong culture of code quality, collaboration, and continuous learning
