About the position

Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly motivated and talented Full Stack Software Engineer II with a strong interest in the design, development and maintenance of full-stack, AI-based enterprise applications to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing software solutions and solving complex problems, in support of the customer mission. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and validate software product(s). This position will be on-site in Tysons Corner, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy full-stack, AI-based enterprise applications on an AI Platform
  • Test, troubleshoot, and enhance customer software applications with and on behalf of customers
  • Identify application performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations
  • Conduct design and development reviews of customer software applications
  • Write application specifications and documentation

Requirements

  • Software development experience with JavaScript and Python
  • Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of solving problems with software.
  • Experience solving problems through exercise of discretion and/or judgment, drawing from prior experiences, with analysis of the issue.
  • Experience making changes or enhancements in systems and processes.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Git or other software version control
  • Experience working with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Redux, Vue, Backbone, or Angular.
  • Experience deploying software to at least one of the leading cloud computing platforms (i.e., GCP, AWS, Azure)
  • Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms and web application development.
