The Full-Time Special Term Contract Faculty, Dance, in the School of Arts and Communication, is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in both lecture and studio formats in accordance with approved course outlines and College policies. This position supports student learning through effective teaching, assessment, and engagement while contributing to the academic and operational needs of the Dance program. Responsibilities include studio instruction, student assessment, advising, program development, and ensuring compliance with safety and instructional standards. Position Requirements: Ability to teach at all Bucks County Community College campuses, as assigned. Ability to teach in multiple instructional modalities, including in-person, online, and hybrid formats.

Requirements

  • Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Dance or a closely related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Dance at the postsecondary level.
  • Experience delivering instruction in a studio-based learning environment.
  • Knowledge of studio safety practices and injury prevention standards.
  • Experience orchestrating performances and community collaborations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver effective instruction in lecture and studio-based Dance courses in alignment with approved course outlines and departmental objectives
  • Employ a variety of teaching strategies and instructional technologies to address diverse learning styles and support student success.
  • Teach courses as assigned, which may include dance technique, choreography, dance history, and/or dance theory, based on programmatic needs.
  • Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student learning outcomes and maintain accurate academic records in accordance with College policies.
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation, creativity, and academic achievement.
  • Manage studio-based instruction, including preparation for classes, rehearsals, and performances, as appropriate
  • Ensure proper use, care, and storage of instructional equipment, supplies, music, and materials.
  • Maintain compliance with studio safety standards, injury prevention practices, and College health and safety protocols.
  • Complete all required course-related documentation, grading, and assessment reports in a timely manner
  • Participate in student advising, orientation activities, and support services as assigned.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff within the School of Arts and Communication to support program goals and College initiatives.
  • Develop and revise curriculum as needed.
  • Participation in the governance system is voluntary but strongly encouraged
