About The Position

GPM&P is responsible for safe and intentional planning and execution of both small and large gas system projects. This is a mature team, well versed in the efficient use of technology, tools and applications, necessary to manage the lifecycle of projects, including CPCU and federally mandated records maintained by current PG&E records and information management standards and processes. GPM&P is looking for a highly motivated and talented summer intern to support the project management team by assisting with maintaining project schedules, monthly forecasting, project team meetings, field visits and project close outs. There are currently 100’s of projects in process within the project lifecycle that require additional support during the peak construction cycle. PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

Requirements

  • Qualified candidates are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, finance, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or construction management at an accredited University
  • Students must be continuing their education full time towards their degree during and/or after the internship returning back to school in the fall of 2026 fulltime.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior knowledge or experience in construction, finance or project management Ability to work in a team environment, as well as work independently
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
  • Project Management or Engineering experience in utilities, municipalities, construction, or engineering consultation

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning team Joy Events
  • Work with Manager/Director level leaders to support process improvement initiatives
  • Attend safety, finance and process improvements meetings
  • Attend go and sees to understand the work, as well as opportunities for improvements
  • Assist with updating processes, records or one-off program initiatives
  • Support Safety Process Planning enhancements, as well as PMO process initiatives
  • Create and/or update monthly and weekly reports and PowerPoint presentations for WORs, MORs and safety meetings
  • Work with Principal leaders from PMO, Construction and Engineering to set up and maintain a command center
