Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • 3+ years of engineering and manufacturing experience in gears or round parts.
  • Ability to travel domestically - up to 50%

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of GD&T; reading engineering drawings
  • Strong communication skills along with the ability to work in a cross functional team
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to handle complex projects with multiple objectives
  • Familiarity of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma
  • Proven record of customer focused work

Responsibilities

  • Support development and implementation of Crankshafts and Gears manufacturing systems for new powertrain programs in southeast Michigan and Ohio.
  • Utilize machining process knowledge, particularly steel and iron metal cutting and grinding to deliver an efficient and optimized process regarding quality, costs, timing, and footprint.
  • Lead equipment installation, power on, run capability, and equipment handover to the powertrain plants.
  • Initiate bids, evaluate, recap bids for equipment purchase; work with Purchasing to write and place orders.
  • Work with OEMs, suppliers, Product, and Plant engineering teams to resolve engineering and program delivery issues.
  • Interface and coordinate project related items such as facilities, safety, ergonomics, material handling & kitting, tooling, and gauging.
  • Support discrete event simulation for constraint analysis; work with Industrial Engineers (IE) to assess and improve throughput.
  • Travel up to 100% to SE Michigan and Ohio Manufacturing Plants during equipment installation and launch.
