We are seeking to hire a Floating General Cleaner in our University City area. You will be responsible for vacuuming, mopping, sweeping floors, trash removal rest room and break room cleaning and other miscellaneous duties to ensure that building and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. Ideal candidate will have professional attitude & appearance and is initiative-taking, hardworking, dependable, and responsible. Here is a more detailed look at the role's general job description: Roles and Responsibilities Primarily responsible for, but not limited, maintaining, and cleaning all aspects of cleaning in the area of daily assignment per shift Must have prior cleaning experience for 1 full year at minimum, in a professional setting Must be able to lift the following weight requirements: Regularly lift: 25-50 lb Occasionally lift: 50-75 lb via team lifting, use of a cart, or dollies Must have a basic working knowledge of how to utilize electronic tablets & 2-way radios Role requires your ability to rotate to other assignments or area throughout the shift as needed by management & business needs Shift assignments can change per shift depending on business need and cross training opportunities Respond to emergencies in assigned areas or other area as they arise Address Biohazard & OPIM occurrences per training & OSHA Standards Address sharps & narcotic paraphernalia per safety training & contact Supervisor immediately Specific cleaning work includes: Identify and remove graffiti Identify and remove animal and/or human feces throughout interior or exterior of building Identify and remove gum Full mopping to spot mopping Sweeping Dusting Policing Vacuuming Using a wet vac machine, a carpet extractor and various other machines common in the cleaning industry Spot cleaning a carpet without a machine Wipe and disinfect trash cans and all applicable surfaces Ladder work, as needed, within site safety specifications Pull trash and bring trash to compactor and operate compactor Cleaning loading dock Squeegeeing windows and cleaning window ledges Cleaning of stairs, escalators, sidewalks, toilets, walls, carpets, elevators, lighting Picking up debris/garbage from the subbasement area/construction zones Observe & report any facility malfunctions or damaged property Assist with putting stock away, organize stock, break boxes down Inventory management Ensure supplies are organized in a safe accessible manner. Request additional stock as needed. Support efforts to decrease supply waste/theft. Do shop laundry i.e mops, towels, rags, sponges etc. Cleaning shop – responsible for cleaning staff shop, keeping it safe, clear of clutter, pests, or any other situations that could impact safety or overall health of entire staff Utilize all cleaning chemicals per material safety data sheets Utilize proper PPE & wet floor signs Clean, maintain & organize janitorial closets Clean all equipment used at end of shift including, carts, machines, dust pans, handles etc Make self aware of and adhere to all company policies & procedures Demonstrate exceptional attendance and timeliness for shifts Value quality and detail of cleaning required and strives for excellence in craft Prioritization of tasks from urgent, daily, weekly, monthly, and as needed Ability to seek out and accept constructive feedback and professional development and is coachable Possess a “can do” & “teams” mentality Ensure known safety protocols are always being followed and OSHA regulations are understood by you Promote a positive work environment where teamwork, professionalism, learning and training are of focus Assess issues as they arise and if team effort is required, contact member of on-site leadership team Additional Note: This position reports to the Project Manager, and/or, the on-site shift manager, and is a key contributor to the overall success of the cleaning outfit assigned to this site. Additional job duties may be applicable as they arise. Any tasks or projects that are applicable for additional pay per the site CBA will be adhered to, at minimum, by management

Requirements

Benefits

  • This is a floater position
  • Part Time , in that, there are no guaranteed hours or set schedule.
  • Possible shifts to cover include Monday - Sunday; 6AM-2:30PM and 2PM -10:30PM
  • Pay rate $18.31 - $21.31 per hour
