About The Position

Job Summary: The General Laborer is responsible for carrying out their responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures. There are many jobs in the processing area that fall under this category. These jobs require a great amount of physical labor and stamina. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Earplug
  • Hairnet
  • Beard-net
  • Protective eyewear
  • Cut resistant glove
  • Slip resistant footwear
  • Stand and Walk Constantly.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to push up to 1,000 lbs.
  • Will need to enter the production environment where team members are exposed to moderate cold (35-55 degrees) and loud noises.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
  • Report all accidents and deficiencies to the lead/foreman/supervisor.
  • Ensure safety devices are installed and working properly.
  • Suggest improvements; continuously improve the quality of all support activities.
  • Adhere to all company personnel policies.
  • Return from breaks in a timely manner; notify lead/foreman/supervisor before leaving the department.
  • Follow daily production schedule and achieve specified goals.
  • Ensure product conforms to specifications.
  • Follow good manufacturing practices, along with company SOP’s and SSOP’s.
  • Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper disposition.
  • Prevent and minimize rework and/or inedible.
  • Tasks will vary as situations and demand change; lead/foreman/supervisor will assign tasks as necessary.
  • Monitor Unsafe Behavior
  • Follow all OSHA Guidelines
  • Able to organize and prioritize in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Able to follow instructions.
