About The Position

Quanex is looking for a General Laborer to join our 1st Shift team located in Chatsworth IL. The General Laborer supports daily production operations by performing a variety of manual tasks in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for assisting machine operators, assembling products, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring materials and finished goods are handled safely and efficiently. Schedule: Monday- Friday: 7:00am - 3:00pm. We Offer You! • Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience a plus
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Must work well with others
• Must be able to lift, bend and kneel frequently

Responsibilities

• Perform basic assembly, packaging, and material‑handling tasks
• Load, unload, and move materials or products manually or using equipment
• Assist machine operators with setup, operation, and troubleshooting
• Inspect materials and products for quality standards
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or issues promptly
• Support other production tasks as assigned
